Born in 1381, Rita lived a life of both joy and heartache. From a young age, she desired to dedicate her life to God, but her family arranged a marriage for her to Paolo Mancini, a man with a temper. For years, she endured his violent behavior with patience and prayer, showing us what it truly means to love our enemies—even when that enemy might be in our own home. Rita’s prayers for her husband eventually bore fruit. Paolo had a conversion of heart, but unfortunately, his past caught up with him, and he was murdered in a feud.
